CARLOS PONCE

Carlos is an avid lover of the outdoors and brings a variety of knowledge and experience to our outings. He spent five years in the Marine Corps, where he learned most of the skills he now carries over to his outdoor adventures. Assigned to “A” CO., 3RD Recon Battalion, he successfully completed schools, which provided him with the opportunity to learn about himself and “Mother Nature”.

Some of the schools he attended were Navy Scuba School, Army Jump School, Amphibious Recon Course, Air Assault and Air Assault Rappel Master’s Course. At the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Facility located in Bridgeport (CA) he learned basic and advanced rock climbing and mountaineering skills. He still climbs today. Some of his favorite spots are Lovers Leap and the Consumes River Gorge. He has four successful summits of Mt. Shasta, as well as summits at Mt. Lassen and Mt. Conness. Carlos enjoys mountain biking and road biking and is currently a member of the 2002 Peak Cycling team.

The last two years, he has completed several adventure races and ultra marathons. Some of his basic philosophies in life are to learn lots, have fun, and respect “Mother Nature”. He is certified as a rappel master, in CPR and as a first responder in first aid. He has been employed with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department for the past 15 years and is currently assigned to the SWAT team. Currently he is the land navigation instructor and rappel master for the team. He has a B.S. in Criminal Justice from C.S.U.S.

ADRIENNE ROBINSON M.A.

Adrienne has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years as group exercise instructor and personal fitness trainer. She has an MA in exercise physiology and is certified by ACSM.

Adrienne believes in health and fitness for life and to improve the quality of life. She personally does weight training and cardiovascular exercise daily as well as amongst other things, biking, running, hiking, and triathlons. And though it is “exercise”, it should still be fun!

She is devoted to bringing that same type of fun and success to others’ fitness program to maintain for life. Adrienne has worked with many types of individuals from all ages and fitness levels and applies the right amount of training for each individual person. She also does nutritional counseling, teaching clients the “how-to’s” on a healthy diet, a subject that floods the consumer with overwhelming information.

If resistance training is the piece of the “fitness pie” that’s missing for you, Adrienne will teach you all you need to know for a program that works for your lifestyle. She also takes clients outdoors and encourages them to add outdoor activities to their overall training.

Adrienne has been practicing yoga for 6 years, is certified and done many training and workshops. She provides private yoga classes as well.
